Tuesday 11th September Thankyou very much to all those who attended 'Recorder Club' this evening. You were sounding good! Our clubs are all up and running and are as follows: Monday 3.30 - 4.30pm Sport Xtra Club (Reception to Year 6 welcome.) Friday 7th September
We've had a fantastic first week at school. Everyone has settled into a new term well and already there's some fantastic work being displayed around the school. Year 1 / 2, your creative writing based on Oscar Wilde's 'Selfish Giant' is very impressive and I love your giant filled with such exciting vocabulary!
Today we ordered new outdoor gym equipment for our Key Stage 2 pupils to keep fit during playtimes. It should be installed within the next six weeks. The five items of equipment include a ski machine, bike and tai chi spinners. When the equipment is installed, our Year 5 / 6 trained playleaders will be coordinating the activities.
A big thank you to all the pupils who stood for our school council elections and congratulations to all those elected. I look forward to working with you this year and hopefully making your ideas a reality.
Tuesday4th September.
Welcome back to school everyone! Hope you've all had a good summer holiday.
Has anyone noticed any changes around the school today? We now have a new and improved fruit tuck shop with painted walls, fruit trolley and a canopy! The Foundation Phase cloakroom has been painted a bright sunshine yellow and now looks very cheerful. However, the most dramatic change has to be found in the Nursery / Reception outdoor learning area where you can now find a bright canopy, a decked area, digging boxes, a giant sand pit, growing area and a new bench. We are hoping to add a role play house and new flooring soon!
Bethesda Art will be returning next week to install our fantastic mural based on the heritage of our community. All the clay tiles have been created by our pupils over the period of a year and I can't wait to see the final result.
I'm very excited as our new school sign will be arriving tomorrow. Soon parents and guests will be met by a welcoming, vibrant sign as you approach the school. A big thankyou to Year 3 / 4 who helped during the design process.
